Stuart has a diverse corporate finance background developed over 18 years in Australia and Europe. His ability to think strategically and laterally combined with his natural leadership qualities has seen him originate and lead significant and transformational transactions all through his career. Stuart’s specific skills lie in corporate strategy, transaction origination and negotiation, financial and market analysis, problem solving, legal documentation negotiation, communicating and influencing for positive outcomes and strong transaction management and leadership. Working with and for some of the most pre-eminent financial and legal advisors, Stuart has significant experience across a wide range of transaction structures and sizes. He also has extensive experience reporting to Boards, Executive and Investors on the performance of businesses and portfolios. Stuart holds Bachelor’s degrees in Commerce (Accounting) and Laws (with Honours) from Adelaide University.

Square Mile is an independent corporate finance advisory firm based in Adelaide, South Australia. Its key focus is on the growth of local commerce, and key clients are South Australian businesses trading domestically and/or internationally, and international businesses looking to invest knowledge and capital in South Australia. Founder and Executive Director Stuart Roach created the company in 2012, following a 12-year stint as an investment banker in Australia and Europe. The name Square Mile is symbolic of Stuart’s professional history, which evolved within two particular square miles of commerce; the City of London and the City of Adelaide.
